•  Building and equipping 25 service points nearby Preventive Medical Centers "PMCs" by the end of 2011.
•  The objective of the project is to gradually increase the capacity to 20 thousand customers daily.

H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID GM, stressed that top leadership's keenness and support of Emirates ID led to a remarkable movement in Emirates ID business and enabled Emirates ID to redouble development efforts aiming at the implementation of all projects and initiatives determined by Emirates ID new 2010-2013 strategy which pays due attention to the registration of all UAE people in the ID Card and Population Register.

Al Khouri commended the wise directions and deep vision of H.H. senior Lt. Gen. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahya, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and chairman of the Emirates ID, and the constant follow-up of H.H. Lt. Gen. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Deputy chairman of the Emirates ID to the project being carried out by Emirates ID.

It's noteworthy that Emirates ID signed an agreement with (EIMAS) to develop the infrastructure required for creating Population Register and ID Card in the service points attached to PMCs in the UAE.

Al Khouri explained that this agreement is a qualitative movement in Emirates ID career and a prominent turning point in its endeavor to achieve the strategic goals and initiatives described in the 2010-2013 new strategy launched recently by Emirates ID with a view to reaching the best and most effective solutions to register all people in the ID Card and Population Register.

Al Khouri stated that the main purpose of this three-year renewable project is that EIMAS is required to register the residents who submit their applications through service points attached to PMCs. Statistics demonstrate that the total number of residents who issue or renew residences for 7000 to 12.000 people a day. This will enable Emirates ID to register the customers on the same day.

Al Khouri confirmed that Emirates ID is committed to increase the percentage of UAE professional cadres and to attract the largest possible number of citizens and provide them with suitable opportunities. He also referred that EIMAS is committed to Emiratizing all jobs in the service points in Preventive Medicine including managers, supervisors, registration administrators and customer service staff, except a number of service employees.

Emirates ID GM said that EIMAS should build and equip 25 service points attached to the PMCs throughout the UAE and on specific intervals. During the first stage, 10 service points in the Northern Emirates and Western Region will be established due to the limitation of the current capacity as the remaining service points will be fitted and opened on stages after system development expressing his hope that all service points will be completed by the of the Q4 of 2011.

He also added that this project will provide 600 opportunities in PMCs as well as building and equipping joint buildings for Emirates ID and preventive medicine departments at three locations in Dubai and Sharjah. These buildings may take longer time to be built and equipped with the necessary machines due to the technical and engineering requirements of PMCs. Al Khouri noted that the ownership of software and buildings to be established will be transferred to Emirates ID upon the expiration of the agreement term.

He also stated that the infrastructure work described in the contract includes the development of devices and software for the primary and alternate data centers, development of software to be installed in the service points attached to the PMCs, provision of cutting-edge systems to print cards with a capacity of printing 2000 cards an hour as well as maintenance of systems and provision of technical support.

Al Khouri expressed his hope that such project may gradually increase the registration capacity to more than 20.000 people a day, in light of the positive results of reengineering of procedures recently conducted by Emirates ID. Registration period takes only 5 to 6 minutes if the fingerprinting is clear.

On the other hand, Al Khouri explained that this agreement will enable Emirates ID to concentrate efforts and capabilities to develop its primary operations for the post-registration stage related to the activation of ID Card in terms of its uses and applications stressing that the primary objective of Emirates ID is to develop an infrastructure to provide an identification system and ID verification based on the state-of-art technologies.
