The Higher Management Committee (HMC) of the Emirates Identitty Authority held its regular meeting chaired by Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Acting GM, with the participation of executive directors, a number of directors and advisers.
The meeting discussed the proposal made by Federal National Council "FNC" for distinction between the ID Card issued for UAE citizens and the ID Card issued for residents. In this context, Mr. Abdullah Askar, Population Register Adviser, and Mr. Shukri Al-Braiki, Innovation and Development Director, submitted a study on this issue. When this study is completed, it will be referred to the HMC in the next meeting.
The meeting also discussed the quality of printed cards and photos as well as suspension and reprinting of unclear and low-quality cards.
The HMC approved provision of special vehicles to help people with special needs and the elderly to register since these groups may find it difficult to visit service points or they may be unable to go there.
