Discussion of Key Prerequisites of PMCs Project

H.E. Major General, Ahmed Nasser Al Ressi, general manager of Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations, Head of the Executive Committee and a Board Member of Emirates Identity Authority, called for redoubling the efforts and accelerating the steps of implementing the most important element of the New Registration Strategy which is the linkage of ID Card registration with the issuance and renewal of residence.

This happened during the meeting chaired by Al Ressi held in his office at the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police with the company responsible for the electronic management and security solutions of the Population Register and registering people at the Preventive Medicine Centers "PMC". H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID General Manager, attended the meeting.

Al Ressi stressed that the importance of the project lies in the expected results to come especially in raising the registration capacity of the new registration system to more than 20.000 ID Cards a day. This project will also provide more than 500 job opportunities for citizens through the company responsible for implementing the project.

The meeting also discussed the best ways required to ensure meeting the primary objective of the project which is to establish buildings nearby the PMCs in the UAE. It is expected that new 25 service points within the PMCs or the neighboring areas will be equipped and operated.

The meeting also discussed the key prerequisites of the project and the mechanism of operating the central typing system so as to meet the new daily registration rates in an attempt to register all UAE population in the ID Card and Population Register.

It's noteworthy that this strategic element is one of the new strategic plans of the Emirates Identity Authority aiming at registering the population. This element is meant to link ID Card registration procedures with the issuance and renewal of residence.
