Emirates ID to Implement the New Registration System at all Service Points

Emirates Identity Authority announced changing the registration system in ID Card and Population Register to the New System in addition to approval of the new registration form in all Emirates ID service points throughout the UAE.

Service points in Dubai and Sharjah will continue to receive old registration forms until the end of Ramadan in order to give people who filled in the old form the opportunity to complete registration procedures.

Emirates ID explained that authorized typing centers can be found now throughout the UAE including Dubai and Sharjah. Typing Centers are still opening their doors to the customers to take the first step of the registration process in the ID Card and Population Register. This step is filling in the new eForm.

Emirates ID is keen on reengineering of registration procedures to provide its customers with high-quality services characterized by speed, ensuring data accuracy, facilitation of registration in the ID Card and reduction of the registration time to less than 10 minutes per transaction.

Emirates ID invites all population to register in the ID Card and Population Register. The customer or his deputy may visit an authorized typing center to fill in the eForm. This is the first step of registration under the new system.

Emirates ID indicated that the second registration stage starts when the customer receives an SMS setting the date and place of registration. Having received the said SMS, the customer should visit the service point stated in the SMS and on the pre-arranged date to complete the procedures of photo-taking and fingerprinting. The receipt issued by the typing center must be brought together with the original passport for people over 15 yrs.

Emirates ID reminds UAE citizens that the documents required to fill in the eForm at the typing centers are "original valid passport, original family book, a passport-size colored photo with a light-blue background for people under 15. Registration fees are AED 100 in addition to AED 70 as service fees.

The documents to be submitted by residents are original valid passport, original family book, valid residence, a passport-size colored photo with a light-blue background for people under 15. Registration fees are AED 100 for each year of residence in addition to AED 70 as service fees.

GCC citizens are required to bring the following documents, original valid passport, original document proving the residence of its bearer in the UAE, (valid labor certificate or a valid legalized lease or ownership agreement) and passport-size colored photo with a light-blue background. Registration fees for people under 15 are AED 100 for each year of residence in addition to AED 70 as service fees.

On the other hand, Emirates ID said that registration fees for people under 15 and of all nationalities are AED 70 in addition to AED 70 as service fees.

Any extra amounts required by the typing centers, other than amounts stated above, are not legal and would hold such centers accountable for such actions. Emirates ID reserves its right to take all legal and administrative procedures against any violating center.

Emirates ID stresses that Colored contact lenses and hand henna are not permitted at the time of registration. Traditional-wear based on applicant's nationality is preferred.
