Emirates ID discussed a number of joint initiatives with the General Pensions and Social Security Authority "GPSSA" including, linking between ID Card number and pension number, using ID Card as the primary identification document of all GPSSA transactions and reading pensioner's data stored in the electronic chip by the card reader.
This discussion took place in the joint meeting held between Emirates ID and the GPSSA at Emirates ID headquarters in the presence of H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID GM and H.E. Mozaffar Al Haj Mozaffar, GPSSA GM.
Al Khouri said this meeting is an extension of the efforts of Emirates ID to build and implement strategic partnerships with a number of governmental and non-governmental organizations in an attempt to carry out the initiatives described in the 2010-2013 strategy.
Al Khouri explained that Emirates ID will implement Data Mapping program with a number of governmental and semi governmental organizations. Data Mapping will compare individual records at the concerned departments by depending on basic data such as the first name, family name in the family book, Emirates etc, with the data recorded in the Population Register and adding ID Card to the records of such organizations.
Al Khouri stressed that the strategic objective of the various projects of Emirates ID is to establish an infrastructure of ID management for individuals. This is not restricted to issuing the ID Card that may be an important method to make use of this infrastructure and its applications such as electronic legalization and notarization, e-signature and other applications provided by Emirates ID Card with its advanced and unique features.
Emirates ID GM assured that Emirates ID will provide GPSSA with card readers to help them with reading the data stored in the smart chip in an attempt to make things easier for people, simplify procedures, avoid double actions and ensure accuracy of data to be read electronically from the chip. He expressed that Emirates ID is ready and keen on providing all forms of technical support for the GPSSA in this area.
During the meeting, Emirates ID gave a presentation including the objectives of the Population Register, ID Card benefits and features and the strategic objectives targeted by Emirates ID through the projects being implemented under its new strategy.
ID Card applications were also included in the presentation as well as the benefits and features of ID Card as a safe and accurate identification card that can be used in completing GPSSA procedures.
In this meeting, Emirates ID was represented by H.E. Eng. Nasser Al Mazrouei, ICT executive director, H.E. Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Population Register executive director, H.E. Mohamed Gharib Al Shamsi, acting executive director of administrative affairs and relations, Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Maamary, PR and Marketing Director and Mr. Youssef Al Kuwaiti, Applications director.
On the other hand, GPSSA was represented by H.E. Abdul Rahman Ali Youssef Al Baquer, Deputy General Manager, and Dr. Ahmed Nasib Al Jabri, director of Pensions and Insurance Receivables.
