The United Arab Emirates has won the Information Security Award for the Population Registry and Identity Card Program (PRIDC) implemented and developed under the supervision of Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) since 2005.
The prestigious award was given during the third session of the Government Technology Summit held recently in the Thai city of Puckett, with the participation of a large number of Asian government delegations and IT experts. The UAE project was awarded the Information Security Award among 212 nominee programs from 14 participant countries including Singapore, Malaysia, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia in addition to other nominees from other European and American countries.
The Judging Panel chose the PRIDC program according to five criteria, i.e. the Scope, KPIs, Innovation, Functionality and Productivity; whereas the PRIDC Program was the best among other nominated programs in view of its compliance with all the said criteria. EIDA has been also nominated to the 2008 Business Process Award among the other award categories offered by the conference; i.e. Information Management, Information Security, Business Process, Service Innovation and Digital Inclusion
